Talent pays no heed to gender as equality helps us to overcome the major challenges faced by logistics

According to the World Bank, if countries’ economies worked towards achieving and full and equal participation between women and men, GDP per capita would increase by up to 20% in these nations. Furthermore, the McKinsey & Company report from 2019 entitled “Diversity wins: How Inclusion Matters” states that companies boasting greater diversity and gender representation have greater possibilities of attaining enhanced financial performance.

A challenge that is not far removed from the world of logistics, as is made patently clear in the 8th annual survey on Women in the Supply Chain conducted by Gartner, the percentage of women engaged in supply chain roles already stands at 41% worldwide, two points higher than in 2022, although their recruitment for front line roles is somewhat less, reaching just 31%.

Broken down by regions, in Latin America, women’s involvement in logistics has grown by 60% over recent years, according to ConaLog, although mainly in operative posts, while the percentage of women holding executive posts is still below 10%.

In Europe and Central Asia, as per data issued by the World Economic Forum, women still face difficulties to enter into the logistics and supply chain sector. Expressed as an average, they represent 23% of the total workforce in the transport, warehouse and communications sectors in these regions.

For this reason, in a complex sector undergoing constant evolution, featuring issues to find a skilled labor force, equality and the incorporation of women into the workplace are vital to solve these. Awareness is essential so that they can discover their potential within the logistics sector, as companies seek to engage people with open minds who are good team players, alongside organizational ability in the analysis and management of data.

Genuine commitment to equality

At Logisfashion, we are wholly committed to the incorporation of standout talent into our company, regardless of their gender. In line with this, our Equality Plan places the onus on Sustainable Development Goals such as number 5, dealing with Gender Equality, number 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth and number 10, on Reduced Inequalities.

For us, fostering personal development and the team’s professional training, regardless of their nationality, gender, sexual orientation, political and religious standpoints, or any other condition is fundamental. This is stated thus in this initiative, adhered to by the Company formed by 60.4% females and 39.6% males.

A team that. thanks to its professional outlook and talent, has allowed us to continue growing and expanding. To continue to dream towards new milestones, such as reaching 160 million euros in annual billing in 2023, or opening new hubs both in Spain or in America Of course, always placing quality and the best service we can offer to our clients at the fore.

Milestones we would not be able to achieve without the following: Mar, Mónica, Encarna, Marta, Emma, Liliana, Josefa, Miriam, Gabriela, Constanza, Nancy, Alexandra, Clariseth, María, Raquel, Rocío, Sandra, and a lengthy etcetera of people displaying major professionalism and commitment. There can be no doubt that the sector is making strides forward in terms of equality of opportunities, thanks to technological evolutions and improvements in employment legislation, such as those tackling home-work balance, yet there is still a long way ahead before we can celebrate. On this, the fantastic opportunity that offers itself to us to attract and retain talent will depend. Regardless of their gender. TALENT, in block capitals.
